Some of these labels are from my grandpa’s collection.

One of the stereotypes about Soviet Union is that people’s life was devoted only to parades, marches and reading communist newspapers… However, just like all other people in the world,  Soviet citizens enjoyed circus performances, followed latest fashion trends and were concerned about the environment. Therefore, matchbox designs were not always about propaganda. They were also used for advertising of goods, services, cultural events or travel destinations.
